Lane Noyes, 2008
Nearly one month ago, junior center Lane Noyes tried out for the Elite II High School Hockey League 5A/5AA team. Lane was the 2008 Rookie of the Year and Hardest Worker award winner. Lane’s love of hockey and work ethic were rewarded with his selection to the Elite II team. His selection to the team also marks the first time a player from the North Branch area has made an Elite II squad.
Lane is a former NBAHA and current North Branch High School hockey player. The successful Elite II High School Hockey League is in its fifth year and is designed to give players an opportunity to develop their skills by playing a highly competitive, 18 game schedule in preparation for the high school hockey season. Elite II was designed around the competitive sections designed by the Minnesota State High School League. Noyes will play with some of the top Section 5A and 5AA players every weekend. Players this year will come from high schools within the sections, such as Irondale, Rogers, Spring Lake Park, Champlin Park, Centennial, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Osseo and Andover.
On September 7, Lane played in his first game and recorded an assist.
Making the team was a great accomplishment — good luck the rest of the way.
