At the September North Branch School Board Meeting, Jen Fairbanks and Tina Walker made a donation in the amount of $5000 on behalf of the North Branch Viking’s Blue Line Club. Money raised from fundraisers over the past year contributed to the donation that helps to support the High School Hockey program in North Branch.

We will also be having a car wash there at the same time.
We need to have at least two adults present so we are looking for adults to sign up to cover each shift as well.
The shifts for each day are: 10:30am-12:30pm, 12:30pm-2:30pm, 2:30pm -4:30pm, 4:30p-6:30pm

They skated with the best players from Section 5A/5AA. All four represented our hockey community well and showed that the North Branch area continues to produce excellent players. Despite their best efforts, the talent pool was very deep and none of our players made either roster.

Unsung Hero Award
This award is presented by the coaching staff to recognize an unsung hero. This player displays exemplary attitude, character, sportsmanship and team leadership in ways often immeasurable and intangible.

Hobey Baker High School Character Award
The goal of the award is to develop, recognize, and reward “character” and sportsmanship. A deserving player of this award demonstrates traits that include: positive attitude, outstanding sportsmanship, excellent work ethic, unselfish team player, coachability, great role model and exemplary citizenship. This high school level award is a natural extension of the prestigious Hobey Baker Memorial Award.

2009-10 Captains
Captains are voted upon by returning players and the coaching staff. Characteristics of a captain include leadership, sportsmanship, integrity and ability. A captain must be a respected leader by his teammates, coaches, school and members of the North Branch area community.

The Vikings travel to Pine City on Tuesday, February 24th to play the Dragons in the Section 5A play-in game. The season series is split at 1-1. The Dragons won the first game 12-2 in December and the Vikings won the second game 2-1 just two weeks ago.

The winner will travel to St. Cloud next Thursday to play 2008 Section 5A Champion and 2009 #1 seed, St. Cloud Cathedral.
