About the activity — before the high school coaches can start to work with the kids, players interested in participating in on-ice practices and preseason conditioning can sign up for Captain’s Practices. Captains practices are voluntary and are run by the team captains, each participating player pays a fee to participate. This year Captain’s Practices will consist of 29, 1.5 hour sessions of ice time. The sessions will be Tuesdays and Sundays starting August 2 and ending November 10th. These on-ice events are optional – but encouraged for any player wanting to improve their conditioning and skill sets.
The cost — Players who elect to skate in these preseason sessions will be assessed a fee to cover the costs for ice time. The fees will be determined each year by taking the total costs to run these practices and dividing by the number of anticipated participants.
